OUR BENEFICIARY
The HIV Clinic at Ward 86
DIFFA San Francisco is proud to support the Ward 86 HIV Clinic at UCSF Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.
As the world’s first HIV outpatient clinic, Ward 86 was founded to fight a fatal, indiscriminate disease that no one understood. Today, Ward 86 is a global leader in HIV and infectious diseases (ID) care. The practice of “the San Francisco Model” of care—an approach that was developed at Ward 86 and encourages integration and collaboration—has yielded innovations in HIV and ID care, and continues to build our understanding of disease and empower patients to thrive.
Making a DIFFArence.
DIFFA supports organizations serving LGBTQ youth, at-risk minorities, and incarcerated individuals, addressing critical issues like HIV/AIDS prevention, food and housing insecurities, and healthcare access. With a focus on closing gaps left by declining government funding, DIFFA prioritizes preventing new HIV/AIDS cases among vulnerable populations, sheltering the unhoused, feeding the hungry, and providing support for those impacted by opioid addiction, driving meaningful change nationwide.
